TritonLake, as title sponsors of the Ireland Sevens programme, brings you TritonLake Perform – a podcast series that will explore the intersection of sport and business, and in particular, the necessary ingredients when it comes to creating and maintaining a dynamic high-performance culture. Hosted by TritonLake founder and CEO, Conor Smyth, guests on TritonLake Perform will come from the worlds of sport and business and looks into what has helped them to excel in their respective environments while also tackling challenges along the way.

In this episode, Conor sits down with former Leinster, Munster and Ireland player Andrew Conway to discuss his time as a professional athlete, from his early days in Leinster, followed by a move to Munster and right onto the Irish stage. The 30-time Irish capped player speaks on the highs and lows he experienced through sport and injury while also talking through his newly launched business 5XFlow and how his time on the field has contributed to this passion.

Growing up in Dublin, Conway experienced the ideal rise in rugby, hailing from Blackrock College before heading to the Leinster academy at the age of just 18. A unique pivot at the time, Conway headed southbound to Munster. Speaking on the misconception that he went there for game time, Conway had to earn the respect of his teammates. Andrew goes on to speak on his illustrious career for both Munster and Ireland including playing in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Building upon his on-field triumphs, Andrew explores his transition to off-field success, marked by the creation of 5XFlow, a venture dedicated to harmonising professional performance with the essential human experience. Conway mentions his work with rising rugby stars Jack Crowley and Craig Casey and delves deeper into his experiences under Joe Schmidt's guidance, the challenges and opportunities posed by injuries, and the core principles that now fuel his daily life.
