Throughout church history, there has always been dialogue concerning the true identity of a mystery man identified both in the Old Testament and New Testament. In our time together today, I would like to discuss this biblical character, by the name of Melchizedek, that I refer to as, “the most mysterious man in the Bible.”
This man of ambiguity, appears only briefly in Scripture.
Is he merely a human type, a literary-theological figure, or is he a pre-incarnate manifestation of the Son?
1 - Where do we find Melchizedek in the Bible?
2 - What are the common views on the mystery of Melchizedek?
3 - Was Melchizedek actually Christ?
Key Scriptures used in today’s teaching: Genesis 14:17-20
Other Scriptures referenced: Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 5-7; Hebrews 13:2
Unless otherwise noted, most Scripture will be read from the New Living Translation (NLT) Bible.
