Noora Niskanen, LCSW, MFA, EMDRIA-Certified Therapist is a licensed clinical social worker and EMDR therapist. With a background spanning multiple disciplines, Noora brings a unique perspective to her work as a trauma therapist. Before transitioning to clinical social work, she earned an MFA in film production from NYU and worked in both the film industry—where she directed narrative short films and edited feature-length documentaries—and in finance as a biotech investor relations consultant.

Now, in her private practice in New York City, Noora focuses on helping adults navigate and heal from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) primarily using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She is currently completing her consultant-in-training program, allowing her to supervise and support other EMDR therapists in their professional development.

In addition to her clinical work, Noora has been an educator, serving as an adjunct professor at Lehman College in 2019 and 2020, where she taught trauma-focused practice to social work graduate students.
