Let’s be honest: The people who open their mouths simply because they like the sound of their voice aren’t worth listening to. Neither are the people who interject because they think they’re smart and know it all. People of substance talk when they have something valuable to say, namely, when they know something that’s missing from the conversation. When they don’t, they listen to what other people have to say, and they learn. The same is true with writing. You should start your book from what’s missing in the conversation your community is having. You should look deep within yourself to find what you can contribute.
