Barb is attacked in the pool, but not the pool as we know it. Nancy sleeps with Steve only to immediately regret it and finds out Barb has gone missing the next day at school. Eleven has flashbacks of being forced to use her powers at the lab. Joyce is communicating with the supernatural, using Christmas lights and an alphabet she’s painted on the wall. Hopper finds articles about Dr. Brenner’s (Papa’s) experiments in the paper and suspects he is connected to why the dept of Energy is lying to him. A body is dragged from the quarry and the boys watch from afar, believing it’s Will.
