Hosea will now list specific illustrations of Israel's rebellion towards God. As a result of their rebellion, judgment is coming upon them. Although decades away, the judgment of God is certain.

We begin this section hearing the warning blow of the trumpet. Indeed, the judgment of God is coming, but God is still offering them opportunity for repentance.

At the end of chapter 9, we see why all of this is coming upon Israel. Because they did not obey God. Being obedient to Jesus and His word is everything in the life of a believer.
