He was just a phone call away — from a massive fine. A man was slapped with an over $200 fine for using the speakerphone function on his cell phone in a train station in the western French city of Nantes.

In the headlines on #TheUpdate this Wednesday, Harvey Weinstein ‘s lawyer portrayed him as the falsely accused “original sinner” of the #MeToo era, while a prosecutor told jurors at his sex crimes retrial that the former movie mogul preyed on less-powerful women he thought would never speak up.

The city Department of Education is getting a failing grade for mishandling observance of a major Muslim holiday. New York City Schools are off on Thursday to observe Eid al-Adha — but the religious holiday doesn’t actually begin until sundown Thursday night into Friday, angering Muslims and confusing other educators.

And if McDonald’s ever doubted it needed to bring back the Snack Wrap, consider this: Nine years after the fast-food powerhouse discontinued the item in the U.S., customers have continued to order it at drive-thrus. Those customers won’t have to leave empty-handed for long. McDonald’s announced that a new version of the Snack Wrap will go on sale July 10.
