S5E3: The Ocean Doesn't Want Me Today
Manage episode 519362410 series 2862320
We're going down down down. Into the dark. Into the deep. Whether it's the vast ocean of gases surrounding celestial bodies or the haunted bodies of water that threaten to swallow us whole. Tonight's protagonists find themselves with water firmly above their heads. First up, we have two debuts to The Ugly Radio as Maggie McMuffin spins a ghostly tale about a lake that kills all who enters it's waters, and the betrothed woman (played by Helen Roundhill) who yearns for a way out in "Much Like Drowning". Then we blast off into steampunk skies Aaron J Shay's "The Ghost of a Storm" - depicting the fated journey of the airship New Boreas, and the storm that threatens to swallow them whole.
We also see the return of Sleepy Eyes of Death as musical guest with crushing post-rock electronica.
Tether yourself to dry land, void-dwellers, for you're liable to get lost in deep waters.
Featured Stories were:
- “Much Like Drowning” written by Maggie McMuffin. Performed by Helen Roundhill.
- “The Ghost of a Storm” written by Aaron J Shay. Performed by Andrew Shanks.
Featured Music Guest was Sleepy Eyes of Death with “Distant Horizons Bled Dry” and “Abandoned Bodies”. Their album ‘Toward A Damaged Horizon’ is available to stream and purchase on Bandcamp.
Original Music by Claudio.
Title Song Provided by unknowncitizen.
