Episode 24 | Released: 16th June 2025

Welcome back to the Twin Elements Podcast.

In todays episode we head across the Pacific and take a deep dive into the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation.
Often referred to as the "American Big Game System.”

Designed to preserve game populations while ensuring sustainable hunting, this system has shaped wildlife policy in the United States and Canada for over a century.

We explore tags and how they play into the seven core principles of this model, how it differs from Australia's fragmented approach to game management, and what lessons — and warnings — we can draw from it.

Whether you're a seasoned Aussie hunter, a conservation advocate, or just passionate about the future management of pest and game species down under, this episode is a must-listen.

In the coming weeks we launch off this USA themed podcast and cover topics such as How to apply for tags, planning to hunt elk, deer, antelope, moose and more!
