EP 71: The Nord Stream Pipeline: Accident Or Sabotage?

This is episode 71 of The Truth Tank.
On September 26th, 2022, several underwater explosions were detected on the Nord Stream NS1 and NS2 pipelines, resulting in multiple gas leaks in 3 out of the 4 pipelines. The Nord Stream pipeline is located in international waters in the Baltic Sea and transports natural gas from Russia to Germany, with the majority of the infrastructure being Russian Owned.
In the episode, we take a deep and detailed dive into the pipeline’s destruction and the investigations that followed. what is Nord Stream? What happened? Who are the suspects? And Why was it targeted? We’ll explore four different perspectives on the incident from four countries that were either affected by the pipeline’s destruction or are suspected of having some involvement in it.
The pipeline’s destruction released approximately 800 million cubic meters of methane gas into the atmosphere. What are the potential environmental impacts of such a massive release? Who stands to gain from the pipeline being taken out of commission? What does it mean for energy supplies across Europe? Explosive traces were found on a nearby yacht, suggesting sabotage may have played a role and potentially, a cover-up.
