Moncell Durden is a dance educator, choreographer, ethnographer, embodied historian, and author. He is an Associate Professor of Practice at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. Durden specializes in Afro-kinetic memory and teaches hip-hop, jazz, improvisation, locking, house, and authentic jazz. He has been a member of Mop Top Crew and Rennie Harris Puremovement, two pioneering hip-hop dance groups. His book, Beginning Hip-Hop Dance, is part of the Human Kinetics Interactive Dance Series
