Paatal Lok, an Amazon Original web series produced by Anushka Sharma’s Clean Slate Films, whose release earlier this year left a rather searing impression on the minds of Indian audiences and simultaneously garnered universal acclaim from critics and viewers alike. Paatal Lok is an exemplary feat, a slow-burn cop drama on the surface with a rather jarring and well-founded sociopolitical undertone. But what enables it to withdraw itself from other stories of its ilk is its courage to ask questions about existentialism and the price we pay for playing cogs in the system, slaving away to keep a country as diverse and multicultural as India well-oiled.

What also serves as the show’s hallmark is its sound design. So here we are, probing deep into the work that went behind crafting the show’s soundscape, and it is my sincere honour to present Vinit D’Souza and Boloy Kumar Doloi. Vinit holds the credit of production sound mixer and sound designer, while Boloy holds credit as re-recording mixer. Vinit’s other works include films like Super 30, Masaan, and NH10, and shows like Sacred Games, while Boloy’s portfolio includes films like Dangal, Stree and Article 15, and shows like Leila and Ghoul. Holding a slew of more impressive titles under their belt, both Vinit and Boloy have come to make their mark as formidable artists and technicians in Bollywood.
