Jimanekia Eborn is a trauma specialist, sex educator with a decade of experience in mental health work and also the founder of Tending The Garden.
'BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ identities have often been left out of the mainstream coverage of sexual assault. Tending the Garden was founded as a space to harness healing and support and place the experience and needs of these identities at the forefront of recovery work around sexual assault.'
In this episode of The Shushbox Podcast Jimanekia speaks on the importance of having people who “look like you” in survivor communities so that survivor’s feelings and issues are not discredited with biased opinions. We talk also about the different types of marginalized groups and how they are underrepresented as well as how Jimanekia started her very own survivor’s group to represent these groups.
