This week on The Revolutionized Mind, I’m joined by Toronto-based comedian, Ryan Zeitz. In this episode, Ryan opens up about his own mental health journey and how it led him to discover comedy as both an outlet and a career. Living with Bipolar Disorder and having experienced suicidal ideation in the past, Ryan blends humour and honesty when it comes to talking about mental health. He talks about what it’s like to bring heavy, personal topics to the stage in a way that not only gets people laughing but also gets them thinking. Through comedy, Ryan is helping to start important conversations, break down stigma, and make mental health feel more accessible and relatable for everyone. We discuss how humour can help us cope during difficult times, connect with others in a deeper way, and remind us that we’re not alone in the struggles we face. Ryan also shares what it’s been like building a career in this space and how he hopes his work continues to impact others. Trigger warning: this episode talks about suicide. If you’ve ever turned to humour in dark moments or wondered how comedians turn struggle into punchlines, this conversation will surely resonate with you.
