You know, sometimes things don’t always work out the way you planned them. Sometimes it ends up going to shit, but if you are broadcast masters like us, you just find a way to pump out unbelievable content regardless of the circumstances. The universe gifted us a last minute rescheduling, and we decided to do a Quick Cast. Which leads us to our movie this week, Stigmata. This was pretty clearly Patricia Arquette’s best work, and she had some weird chemistry with Gabriel Byrne, which just works somehow. Billy Corgan provides the music (along with some very special friends that we talk about in detail during the pod), and Mike channels his inner holy spirit and crushes the games segment of the show.

This movie is about *SPOILER ALERT* a woman who is experiencing all of the afflictions of the Stigmata, and Byrne is a Vatican investigator sent to determine the legitimacy of the claim. Not only is it legit, but it’s the most insane case ever recorded, and it points to a giant conspiracy within the church. Jonathan Pryce, Enrico Colantoni, and Dick Latessa all provide great characters within the Roman Catholic Church hierarchy , while Nia Long, Portia de Rossi, and Patrick Muldoon provide a heavy dose of 90’s nostalgia. The recast itself may technically count as blasphemy, so this is one you don’t want to miss.

Thanks for listening, everyone! We’re going to be starting up our Roundtable series again this winter, so reach out to us with any suggestions for topics you want us to talk about. We would also love to hear any suggestions for future recasts that you have, or casting picks of your own that you want to share.
