In the first part of today's show, we looked at how Southern Europe is baking through a brutal mid-summer heatwave, with record-breaking temperatures sweeping across Spain, Italy, and Greece. Then we explored why the meaning of life might not actually be a puzzle to solve—philosophers suggest it could be simpler than we think. Finally, we talked about how OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and Anthropic are warning the world that AI models are becoming so complex, even their creators might be losing the ability to understand them.

Today's unpopular opinion was that relationships and friendships with AI will be normalised in the future.

In the show's second half, we asked 100 humans to name a way to greet a friend without speaking.
