25-125 The Whisper That Changes Everything
Manage episode 480682087 series 3314456
When we think of God speaking, many of us imagine booming voices, flashes of lightning, or dramatic moments that shake the earth. But what if I told you that some of the most powerful words God will ever speak to you… come in a whisper?
Our springboard for today’s discussion is:"And after the fire the sound of a low whisper..." — 1 Kings 19:12
Elijah had just faced down the prophets of Baal and seen fire fall from heaven. He’d witnessed the power of God in bold, miraculous ways. But when Elijah ran to the mountain, exhausted and afraid, God didn’t show up in fire, wind, or earthquake. He came in a whisper. Why?
Because a whisper means you have to be close to hear it.
God’s voice isn’t distant or demanding—it’s intimate. It’s the kind of voice you only catch when you lean in, when you quiet your soul and push out the noise. It’s not always what we expect. But that whisper? It changes everything. It reminds us that He is near, that He sees us, that He knows what we need even when we don’t.
And here’s the truth—if you’re always waiting for a thunderclap, you’ll miss the whisper. His voice doesn’t come to perform. It comes to transform. To direct. To comfort. To call us back into relationship.
So the question isn’t: Is God speaking? The real question is: Are we quiet enough to hear Him?
Question of the Day:When was the last time you were quiet enough to hear God's whisper?
Let’s Pray:Father, help me quiet the chaos around me. Teach me to lean in and recognize Your still, small voice. I long to hear You clearly. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Let’s Get To Work!
And remember—God doesn’t compete with noise. He waits for stillness. The quieter you become, the more clearly you’ll hear Him.
