While there’s a lot that’s inspired me from one of my favourite books, Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance, this little concept stands out. I love Robert Pirsig’s explanation of it and since I first read it, I’ve been amazed at the number of areas in life where the concept of the South Indian Monkey Trap applies. Pretty much in any aspect of life where you think you have only one way of doing things and are stuck in limited mindsets, ways of thinking and in turn behaving. Vinesh Sukumaran explains in this podcast what the trap is and the positive behaviour of escaping from the trap if you like.
