Skylar Thompson will make the initial roster with Will Howard going on the IR ‘at some point.’ The Steelers cut Beanie Bishop after he was the camp darling of 2024 and finished the season with 4 interceptions. Steelers film junkie Derrick Bell from Pittsburgh Sports Now joined the show. Derrick was a little bit surprised by Skylar Thompson making the roster, but he made it difficult to deny. Derrick thinks Will Howard could have a solid, backup QB career, but is hesitant on saying he’d be a ‘good’ starting QB. Derrick got more into Howard’s game and what he likes/doesn’t like. Derrick gave his take on some of the receivers that are on the open market after cut-down day and if the Steelers will kick the tires on any. He said Jakobi Meyers is the move they should try to make. Derrick believes Steelers fans should be ‘extremely’ excited about Yahya Black after what he did in the preseason. What kind of trade package and money would it take for the Steelers to acquire Meyers in Vegas? Derrick mentioned a player or two he would like to see the Steelers claim from another club. Name Game.
