eSelf AI is partnering with the Center for Educational Technology to revolutionize education with personalized AI tutors. This groundbreaking initiative will be the first national-level implementation of AI tutoring, launching in Israel with support from Harvard University as an academic adviser. Starting in May, 10,000 students will participate in A/B testing of this innovative program. The partnership addresses critical educational challenges identified in the "Two Sigma Problem" study, which demonstrated that one-on-one tutoring helps students perform two standard deviations better than traditional classroom instruction. With global test scores declining and UNESCO estimating a need for 44 million more educators worldwide, this solution comes at a crucial time. Students will interact with responsive AI avatars that adjust teaching styles to match individual learning needs, providing support both in and outside the classroom.
eSelf AI's technology delivers faster response times than ChatGPT's voice assistant, creating a more natural conversational experience. The company recently secured $4.5 million in seed funding and has grown to a team of 20, led by CEO Alan Bekker and CTO Eylon Shoshan. These AI tutors offer unique advantages - they're customizable in appearance and personality, can generate lesson-aligned visuals and videos, respond in real-time to questions, and support multiple languages. The pilot begins with Hebrew language instruction before expanding to all K-12 subjects by September 2025. This initiative sets a new global standard for AI in education, making personalized tutoring accessible to all students regardless of background. As Tzachi Langer from CET noted, they're giving every student in Israel access to a personal AI tutor, advancing educational equity nationwide.
