Dr Vedhna Dayanand Lalla has welcomed the government’s decision to declare gender-based violence as a national disaster. However, she is of the view that social workers, community workers and GBVF practitioners stand between survivors and further harm, yet they face violence that often mirrors the very crises they intervene in - and according to her, this is a missing part of this significant story that government needs to pay attention to.
