Proverbs 23:1-8

Pastor Troy continues in his series on the heart as well as continuing the thought from the previous message, Considering Well. In Proverbs 23, the Lord (through Solomon) is warning His people of snare of the world's delicacies. In America, and most of the Western world, the ruler's table is ever before us. Now today more than ever, we are constantly tempted by such riches that the common man in Biblical times could have only dreamed of having. From smartphones, to fast food, to online streaming, the world and it's allurements are every encroaching upon the heart of the believer. Christians must take note from God's Word to consider well the vain pleasures of this world that only leave us more empty than we were before we ever pulled up to its table.

The calling for every Christian is to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Well, where does the earth begin and where does it end? For us at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, the world begins in the Shumont Community on top of a little peak in Buncombe County, NC. Our prayer is that through this platform we might do our part in reaching the ends of the earth with the gospel!

We unfortunately began recording part-way through a long series on prayer, but have since moved out of that series and are now into an impromptu series on the heart! This was not something that was planned but has since turned into a 6-part series, beginning with "The Greatest Frontier" and ending with "Considering Well - Part III. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
