On a cold December morning in Mississippi, former LSU football player and lifelong hunter Matt Branch set out for a routine duck hunt with family. By the end of the day, he would be fighting for his life on the side of a muddy highway — shot point-blank by his own shotgun after a dog stepped on the trigger.
