On this week’s show, we gave our reaction to Leicester City’s first defeat of the season after they were beaten by West Ham United at the London Stadium. The Foxes had only ten men for the entire second half following Ayoze Perez’s red card, which proved costly as the Hammers romped to a 4-1 victory.

Three Midlands clubs – West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Coventry City – find themselves in the Championship top six after the first four rounds of matches, so we talked about whether or not they can maintain their strong starts.

However, at the opposite end of the second-tier, Nottingham Forest are in a spot of bother having lost their opening four games. After the Reds’ most recent defeat to Stoke, several fans have called for manager Chris Hughton to be sacked, but it looks like he will still be in charge for this weekend’s East Midlands derby against bitter rivals Derby County.

Also included this week:

  • Villa register their first victory of the season
  • Birmingham hit five at Luton
  • Walsall’s wait for a win continues

Brought to you by Prost International each week, The Midlands Football Show will cover every Premier League and EFL club in the Midlands region.
