Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has scrapped the proposed VAT hike, confirming that the rate will remain at 15% beyond 1 May.

Meanwhile, former President Jacob Zuma has failed in his bid to appeal the court’s decision to keep Advocate Billy Downer as the lead prosecutor in the long-running arms deal trial.
