Hey Tim the Beaver, it's Jenny with your Campus Update for October 20 through October 27. Let's get you set for the week—fast. First up—the "Open Data @ MIT" event is happening Tuesday, October 21, at 3 p.m. in the Nexus, Hayden Library. Celebrate the winners of the 2025 MIT Prize for Open Data and enjoy refreshments. Next—the "New Beginnings" Fall Member Event kicks off at the Media Lab from October 21 to 23. It's a deep dive into innovative projects and ideas. And—the "Day of the Dead Celebration" starts Monday, October 27, at 9 a.m. in Room 14E-304. Join in creating a traditional altar and honor loved ones throughout the week. This past weekend, the MIT Engineers football team faced off against the Springfield Pride. Despite a strong effort, the Engineers fell short with a final score of 21-17. Quarterback Alex Chen threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns, while linebacker Jordan Smith led the defense with 12 tackles. Looking ahead, the Engineers will host the Coast Guard Bears this Saturday at 1 p.m. on Steinbrenner Stadium. Come out and support the team! The "Heritage Meets Heritage 2025" event is set for Monday, October 20, at 5 p.m. It's a fantastic opportunity to explore diverse cultural backgrounds and connect with fellow students. On the dining front, the MIT Fresh Food Bags pop-up market continues every Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Stata Center Lobby. Grab fresh, local produce to fuel your week. Starting Monday, expect heavy rain and gusty winds, so pack an umbrella and be cautious of slick roads. The rest of the week looks pleasant with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures. Perfect for outdoor activities and campus events. Your move: Attend the "Open Data @ MIT" event on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Nexus, Hayden Library. Celebrate open data initiatives and network with peers. That's your quick Campus Update. I'm Jenny—catch you next Monday morning. Tap follow on your podcast app so you never miss a beat.
