When we listen to music, in many cases, our ears will gravitate to the beat. But sometimes songwriters will throw in some Odd time signatures into songs to add another layer of feeling and information into the song. In many cases these songs may give you the feeling that something is a bit “off” especially when you try and tap your feet to them. This can happen in the most subtle of ways or it can be all the way bonkers. Well that’s what we are gonna shine the spotlight on in today’s show. Today we’re gonna discuss our favorite songs that have odd time signatures.

As a guitarist, songwriter, or producer he’s worked with a ton of amazing artists including Amos Lee, Birdie Busch, The Sweetback Sisters, John Carter Cash, and the Joseph Parsons Band. He’s also made 5 awesome and intricately musical albums with his band Muscle Tough, with a sound that is a heavily improvised blend of modal jazz, funk, and psychedelia. And as a solo artist he’s put out 5 stellar solo albums with his latest “Where Does the Go?” being released in 2020.
