Paul Gregory reveals that in April 1963, Lee Harvey Oswald, agitated and shaken, confessed to Marina that he attempted to assassinate General Edwin Walker in Dallas. Marina found a note giving her directions if he failed to return. Though she realized he was deeply disturbed, she kept the event secret until the Warren Commission. Shortly after, Oswald moved to New Orleans, seeking to build credentials as a "radical operative" for Fidel Castro, hoping to secure a Cuban visa that would lead to a Soviet visa. Paul Gregory notes that despite his growing delusions, there was absolutely no indication whatsoever that he was planning to assassinate the president of the United States at this time.
