In this Bible Study Sunday, I broadcast from Eagle Pass and continue our series on Dispensations, moving from the patriarchs into the Dispensation of the Law. I set the stage with Israel’s 400 years in Egyptian bondage and introduce the Passover as both a historic event and a powerful type pointing to Christ, our Passover.
We walk through the ten plagues as judgments on Egypt’s gods, then focus on Pharaoh’s four compromises—worship in the land, don’t go far, leave the family, and leave your possessions—and how these mirror the enemy’s tactics to keep believers tied to the world. We then dive into Exodus 12 to examine the Passover lamb: its purity, the application of the blood by hyssop (a picture of accessible faith), the necessity of applying—not merely analyzing—the blood, and feeding on the roasted lamb as a picture of fellowship with Christ.
I close with a pastoral appeal to reject compromise, trust fully in the blood of the Lamb, and live with the joy and assurance that flows from obedience and faith.
Coming up in the series: the giving of the Law at Sinai, tabernacle worship, the judges, the kings and divided kingdom, the captivities, the prophets through John the Baptist, and tracing the crowns of the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God—so you can gain a clearer grasp of the whole Bible storyline.
