This week, the ID Talk podcast welcomes Terence Kwok, the founder and CEO of Humanity Protocol—a blockchain-based digital ID project that uses palm vein biometrics to verify that each of its users is indeed a real human being, and not a bot. Having only just launched this year, Humanity Protocol is a very new project. But it has gained steam quickly, having drawn 25,000 registrations within the first 24 hours of the launch of its testnet, and quickly racing to accrue hundreds of thousands of users, as Kwok reveals in this interview. He also details some of the technical aspects of how the system works, discusses what's special about building on blockchain, and outlines some of his ambitious plans for where Humanity Protocol is going next.

The conversation offers a fascinating look at how some of the most cutting-edge technologies of today are converging to create a new digital identity ecosystem, with Kwok bringing a lot of candor to the conversation—including his thoughts on the "head start" that rival World (formerly "Worldcoin") has attained with its controversial iris-scanning platform, a competitive challenge that he seems to welcome.
