How Is He Podcast | Ep. 77

This Episode, live from Ampifi Studios, Podge & Popa are joined by Eoin Everard, a five-time All-Ireland champion in long distance running, Kilkenny’s first-ever four-minute miler, and the county’s first sub-14-minute 5K runner. He even managed to snag a Northern Ireland title along the way, though he admits that one was a bit of a random surprise!

He is also a former European over 35s 3000m Champion and has represented Ireland from 800m to 10k over the years

Eoin’s journey in athletics has been full of ups and downs. He spent a year competing full-time — a year he describes as a disaster at the time, but ultimately a blessing. It taught him that nobody really cares whether you win or lose, and that shift in mindset allowed him to rediscover the joy of running — and actually brought even more success.

Away from competition, Eoin is a physiotherapist and lecturer at SETU Waterford. He holds a PhD in Human Movement and channels that expertise into teaching Sports Pilates, helping people stay injury-free and keep doing what they love.

On top of all that, he’s developing an innovative product called the BackAware Belt — designed to give instant feedback on your back position and improve posture and movement in real time.
