As Trump's second term approaches, this episode explores the staggering scope of environmental rollbacks planned for his administration. Through Project 2025's detailed blueprint, Trump aims to systematically dismantle decades of environmental protections while installing climate deniers in key positions throughout government.
The threats are unprecedented: from targeting environmental nonprofits under anti-terrorism pretexts to relocating the EPA to weaken its effectiveness. His administration's actions could add an estimated 4 billion tons of greenhouse gases - equivalent to the combined emissions of the EU and Japan.
Yet resistance continues. State and local governments forge ahead with climate initiatives, environmental lawsuits maintain an 80% success rate, and market forces increasingly favor renewable energy. While federal action may stall, grassroots movements and legal challenges provide paths forward.
This final episode in our three-part series examines both the gravity of coming threats and realistic strategies for maintaining environmental progress during Trump's presidency.
