In the 1980s, cryptographer David Chaum created eCash, the first digital cash system. Mojo Nation was a P2P file-sharing network that rewarded users who shared bandwidth and storage. Napster was a music-streaming service that was shut down in 2001. Bitcoin was created in 2009 and is now the world's most popular currency.
