Mayer’s career is marked by senior-level product management roles at industry giants such as GE Healthcare, Hospira, Hill-Rom, Carefusion, Becton Dickinson (BD), and PartsSource. At GE Healthcare, he honed his expertise in imaging systems and IT integration, while his tenure at BD and Carefusion deepened his knowledge of medical devices and systems integration. His experience at PartsSource added a layer of proficiency in healthcare supply chain optimization. This diverse background equips him to address complex challenges in healthcare technology, particularly in delivering scalable, AI-driven imaging solutions.
At Agfa HealthCare, Mayer has been pivotal in advancing the Enterprise Imaging Platform, emphasizing interoperability and workflow efficiency. A notable achievement under his leadership is the 2024 strategic collaboration with Rad AI, integrating AI-driven reporting and FHIRcast standards to reduce radiologist burnout and improve precision—demonstrated successfully at the IHE Connectathon. He has also championed cloud-based innovations, such as the AGFA EI VNA and XERO® Universal Viewer, which earned Best in KLAS Awards in 2025 for their impact on radiology productivity.
Mayer’s vision aligns with Agfa’s mission to “keep clinicians in the flow,” a concept he showcased at RSNA 2024 during an Innovation Theater presentation titled “Networked Radiology, Not Overworked” and a Lunch & Learn session on AI-driven imaging. His leadership fosters a balance of technical innovation and practical application, ensuring Agfa’s solutions meet the evolving needs of healthcare providers worldwide.
