Do you want to be part of what comes next? [RAW AUDIO UNEDITED]
Manage episode 505474446 series 3044802
AUDIO IS UNEDITED and the following is a direct transcription of my thoughts to you.
Cut me some slack. It's been a rough go these past weeks. So I'm a little emotional. I'm feeling vulnerable. Part of me didn't want to send this, it felt like I was "unprofessional", but you know what? Here it is anyway!
Recorded outside using my AirPods Pro as I felt the cool September sun and I walked, speaking aloud because I had to.

The world of podcasting is not what it used to be, and it’s not in any way going back to a semblance of what it used to be at all.
My question to you today is: do you want to be part of what comes next, and what is it for you?
I can feel the yearning from people to know things, to ask questions—especially online. There are a lot of, sometimes existential, questions about whether this works or that doesn’t work. Whether an entire industry is, you know… insert any kind of very large platitude versus another very large platitude.
And what I sense people are seeking are direct answers. There are very few direct answers to any of those types of deep questions.
My question to you is: do you want to set the time apart—five weeks with me—to go into a space that feels familiar to you? Where you’ve done it before, you’ve been around the block, you’ve had the conversation, and you feel comfort in the familiarity of it.
And yet… come into it from a perspective where you have evolved. You have possibly other goals, other dreams, and you don’t quite know what steps to take. Or you need a little bit of a sounding board to speak aloud the things that you’re struggling with—the big questions you’re moving through.
Not so that we can give you a cookie-cutter approach. Not so that we might even give you exact solutions to the problem.
But we most certainly will engage with the process. We most certainly will be present with each other. We most certainly will lend an ear. We will choose to stay together, and endeavor towards feeling the earth underneath us as a way to steady ourselves.
Sometimes, crafting the space—putting the stake in the ground, claiming the time—is what we need.
And so, I invite you today to take this journey with me for five weeks.
May we endeavor together.
May we show up for each other.
In a familiar way, in an evolving way—
and continue to move forward.
With love,
Elsie
