They often crave the accolades and admiration from being in the spotlight. In this dynamic, you may find yourself as the person who, inadvertently or not, provides them with the means to bask in that glow. When you offer your talents, achievements, or attention, they thrive and bask in the praise of the crowd. However, once you withdraw your support or shift your focus away from them, the spotlight fades, and the applause dissipates.

This shift can provoke a dramatic change in their demeanor. Instead of fostering gratitude, a taker may respond with anger or resentment as they watch their shine dim. In their desperation to reclaim that appreciation and validation, they often resort to various tactics to manipulate or use you again. This relentless pursuit of external validation drives them to seek out new avenues, whether through others or by attempting to undermine your contributions, all to restore their lost prestige. The essence of their behavior becomes a dance of dependence, with your light being both a source of their joy and a target for their discontent when it flickers away.
