Kate Chaney MP is the sitting Member for Curtin in the Australian House of Representatives. She was elected to this previously ultra-safe Liberal seat in Perth in 2022 and is Western Australia’s first female Independent Member of Federal Parliament. She campaigned on a platform of climate action, integrity, and inclusive communities. She currently sits on the Joint Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs, the House Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs, and the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters. Before entering politics, she had a successful career in commercial law, corporate strategy and community services, including roles in Aboriginal affairs, sustainability and Innovation. She served as Anglicare WA’s Director of Innovation & Strategy immediately before being elected to Parliament.
