435. Knowledge v. Wisdom
Manage episode 502319410 series 3634004
Welcome everybody to episode 435 of the Daily Rat Podcast. Gonna share a quote with you that I love from Lao Tzu. To attain knowledge, add things every day. To attain wisdom, remove things every day. We talk about this so much, this pursuit of knowledge. And wisdom, remove things every day. I think in today's world we take in so much information and we're always trying to learn, learn, learn. And sometimes the process of learning is actually knowing what to remove from your process. Remove from your life. Habits to take out of your routine. The simpler we can get, the more efficient and consistent we can be. If there's way too many moving parts, it's gonna be really hard for us to replicate and for us to keep up with all of the information, with all the processes. Keep up. Moving parts get the more efficient and consistent we can be. If there's way too many moving parts, we might be making things a little bit too complicated in the way we go about our craft. So I encourage you today, what is the main thing that you could take away right now? It might be difficult to let go of it, but what purpose is it serving you? And if it's hard to think of what you want to take away, what is your objective? What are the main things that you need? What purpose is it serving you? And if it's hard to think of what you, is it serving you? And if it's difficult for you to think about what to remove, think about your objective. Think about the main things that you need to do to put yourself in the best position to reach X objective and try to remove anything that's not that. At the end of the day, you might be better off because like Lao Tzu says, knowledge is gaining and wisdom is taking things away. So what can you take away today? Thanks everybody for listening. Until the next episode.
