Do Not Be Afraid: God’s Faithfulness for His Name’s Sake
Manage episode 506436870 series 3622881
In today’s Coffee with the Superintendent, we turn to 1 Samuel 12:19–25 where Israel recognizes their sin in demanding a king and fears God’s judgment. Samuel reminds them that while they have done evil, they must not turn aside from serving the Lord with all their heart. This passage points us forward to Christ, who intercedes for us as the perfect and eternal Mediator, and assures us that God’s faithfulness rests not on our strength but on His great name.
In the Second Pour, we celebrate a full weekend and today’s birthdays, including alumni Carla Botts-Read, Timothy Johnson, Brittany Shellman-Davis, Gina Cuza, Amearah Williams, Sarah Houser, and Gregory Carney. We also celebrate Victoria (5th grade), Emerald (5th grade), Ju (12th grade), Gabriel (11th grade), Naheem (9th grade), and Natalie (7th grade). A special birthday shout-out goes to Mrs. Posada, who blesses us each day by serving lunches in both the Upper School and Preschool. Lunch today is chicken nuggets, and our Girls Golf Team competes at Bayonet Golf Course at Puppy Creek.
