Hey Roar-ee the Lion, it's Jenny with your Campus Update for October 20 through October 27. Let's get you set for the week—fast. First up—B Term kicks off today, October 20. Make sure you're registered and ready to roll. Next, on October 20 at 5:00 p.m., the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society is hosting "Dalit Studies Futures" at the Heyman Center. It's a great opportunity to delve into critical discussions. And don't miss the Distinguished Speaker Series on October 20 at 6:00 p.m., featuring media artist Refik Anadol. He'll be sharing insights into digital art and artificial intelligence. This past weekend, our women's soccer team faced Yale on October 18. The Lions will be looking to avenge their loss to the Bears in the 2024 Ivy League Tournament Semifinals. Looking ahead, the women's soccer team travels to Princeton on October 25. Let's cheer them on as they aim for a strong finish this season. On October 22 at 1:00 p.m., the Columbia College Alumni Association is hosting "Countdown to the NYC Marathon." Whether you're running or cheering, it's a great way to get involved. A campus trend to note: the "Big Tech, Big Ideas" Café Columbia event on October 23 at 6:30 p.m. Join Professor Richard R. John for a discussion on influential public figures shaping the U.S. And for a dining tip—the campus food trucks are featuring seasonal specials this week. Be sure to check out the pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider donuts to get into the fall spirit. This week in New York City, expect variable cloudiness with a couple of showers early in the week, transitioning to mostly sunny skies by Friday. Temperatures will range from the high 50s to low 60s. Pack an umbrella for Monday's showers, and enjoy the pleasant weather later in the week. Your move: register for the "Dalit Studies Futures" conference happening today at 5:00 p.m. It's a unique opportunity to engage with critical scholarship. That's your quick Campus Update. I'm Jenny—catch you next Monday morning. Tap follow on your podcast app so you never miss a beat.
