When many people warn about the dangers of power, they refer to "The Lord of the Rings." The One Ring can be a symbol for the dangers power presents, but the message of the books is far more nuanced. In his famous trilogy, J.R.R. Tolkien also venerated monarchy and focuses on the danger of leaders who do not embrace their authority and act decisively.
