What a game in Norman. Auburn fell to Oklahoma 21-17 in a defensive slugfest, but this one will be remembered more for controversial officiating and missed opportunities than anything else. A fumble return touchdown erased, a missed illegal substitution, and critical non-calls left Auburn fans frustrated and wondering what could have been.

Jackson Arnold showed flashes of brilliance but also held onto the ball too long, taking ten sacks against one of the best defensive fronts in the country. Cam Coleman proved once again why he’s the next superstar wideout in college football, consistently torching Oklahoma’s secondary, but missed deep shots and penalties kept Auburn from pulling off the upset.

Special teams were once again a disaster, costing Auburn critical field position and points. Still, the defense proved elite, holding Oklahoma to just 32 rushing yards. Auburn showed it belongs on the big stage, but execution and discipline must improve heading into SEC play.

This postgame reaction dives deep into officiating controversies, Auburn’s offensive struggles, and why this loss—while frustrating—still leaves everything on the table for Hugh Freeze’s squad in 2025.
