Hanon Systems Has Built More Than 1 Million CO2 E-Compressors for Electric Vehicles
Manage episode 506722260 series 3675426
Automotive thermal management supplier Hanon Systems has announced that it has produced more than 1 million CO2 (R744) electric compressors for electric vehicles (EVs).
The company has produced CO2 e-compressors at its factory in Palmela, Portugal, since 2019. The compressors are supplied to Volkswagen for its MEB platform, on which the ID model range and a number of the company’s other EVs are built on. The e-compressors are used in VW’s thermal management system built around a CO2 heat pump. Heat pumps play a key role in EVs as they not only provide cabin heating and cooling but also battery temperature regulation.
