Kim Fahner talks to the Artsy Raven about her roles as Poet Laureate for the City of Greater Sudbury and First Vice-Chair of The Writers' Union of Canada, spreading poetic graffiti across Sudbury and the family rumour that inspired her historical fiction book, The Donoghue Girl.
Kim Fahner lives and writes in Sudbury. Her debut novel, The Donoghue Girl, a piece of historical fiction, is being published by Latitude 46 in September 2024. Kim's most recent book of poems is Emptying the Ocean (Frontenac House, 2022) and she was Poet Laureate for the City of Greater Sudbury from 2016-18. Kim's next book of poems, her sixth, is The Pollination Field (Turnstone Press), and will be published in Spring 2025. Kim is currently the First Vice-Chair of The Writers' Union of Canada (2023-25). She was recently a finalist for the 2023 Ralph Gustafson Poetry Contest and may be reached via her author website: Kim Fahner - Poet, Playwright, Novelist, Teacher.
