Jeff Cottrill is a novelist, performance poet and journalist based in Toronto. He has headlined in countless literary series throughout Canada, the U.K., the U.S., France and Ireland for more than twenty years, and he has been published in several international anthologies from New York to Australia. In 2021, his poem “This Is Not Real Poetry” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and last year, he launched Hate Story, his seventh or eighth attempt at a first novel. His short story "The Madness East of St. George" was a finalist in the Writers' Union of Canada's 2023 Short Prose Contest for Emerging Writers.

On The Artsy Raven he shares on how to deal with trolls on social media, the difficulties of dealing with publishers and how he sells his writing internationally.

At time 13:27 he reads from his latest work, Hate Story.
