Let me be clear, I still firmly believe in a Divine Creator, I just have no faith, loyalty, trust or desired connection to the church and the christian religion. I had spent the majority of my life within the walled boundaries of the church building and the rigid traditions and rituals of Christianity. After many years, years even working in the "ministry" end of the church as an adult, I left. For many years I had been questioning the religion and the church's roll in oppression, judgement, racism, sexism...the list goes on. I could no longer stand by and watch my children grow up in a space that I personally saw, oppress and harm others. I had no desire to raise up a family that could possibly perpetuate this.
