Googles Gemini platform now allows users to verify if a video was created or edited using Googles AI models. The new feature, which builds on a similar image verification tool, uses Googles proprietary watermark, SynthID, to pinpoint the exact times when the watermark appears in the video or its soundtrack. This development aims to help identify AI-generated content, with Google claiming SynthID is imperceptible and harder to remove. The feature is currently available for videos up to 100MB and 90 seconds in length, in every language and location where Gemini is offered.
