Check out Dr. Michael Mew's campaign, Prevent Crooked Teeth: https://preventcrookedteeth.com/ and his YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/Orthotropics Here are the timestamps for the questions asked: 1:01 Where is the tongue supposed to be at rest in our mouths? 2:40 What do you mean by the back of the tongue being proprioceptive? 3:44 Why are people’s tongues not in the right spot today? 5:36 How did you start developing these ideas? 9:17 So what is proper facial posture? 11:23 How did people’s health change as a result of upper dental arch expansion? --Dr. Mew mentions experiments done by Harvold, which I will get to in a follow-up post about the studies mentioned. 17:33 To confirm, you bleieve that poorer people chewed their food more and that’s why they had better facial structure? --Dr. Mew mentions another study in Punjab on socioeconomic status and facial development which found that in the upper and middle class faces were narrower and longer. 18:28 What is Mewing? --Dr. Mew mentions the abs walk here and some other exercises such as the tongue swallowing techniques. 21:40 Do you feel like the improved facial structure your wife has noticed over the past ten years is due to greater development of the jaw muscles? 23:07 So you think all of the ear, nose and throat issues today could be corrected with better facial posture? 25:16 So one thing you mention over and over again is teeth together, lips together– 26:14 I’ve noticed since implementing your techniques that I would sleep with my lips together but my mouth kind of open–is this normal? 29:43 So you disagree with Dr. Weston A. Price’s findings– The rest is him kind of interjecting with his thought. He brings up a variety of important ideas such as that Dr. Weston A. Price lived in an era where vitamins were all the rage. They didn’t consider consistency of the diet. They just focused on nutrients and he believes this was a mistake. Dr. mew also talks about sleep apnea and how it’s going to shorten people’s lifespans.
