On the latest episode of Steelers Almighty, we delve into the standout performances of Queen and Wilson against the Vikings, where the duo combined for a remarkable 24 tackles, including 16 solo stops, a sack, and five tackles for loss. Their improved coverage skills showcased their potential, even if they occasionally appeared a step behind in zone coverage. The big question remains: can this level of play be sustained? While it's worth noting that Minnesota was missing some key offensive linemen, the energy and tenacity these linebackers displayed were undeniable.

The AFC North is looking downright abysmal, with many considering it the worst division in football after just four games. Cincinnati finds itself at 2-2 and struggling mightily, as Joe Burrow remains sidelined and the team's offensive line crumbles. Their once-dominant offense is now last in the league in yardage, while the defense lingers at 30th. Baltimore, sitting at a dismal 1-3, appears unable to win critical matchups, further deteriorating under the weight of key injuries—including to quarterback Lamar Jackson. Their defense isn't faring any better, ranked 31st overall and last in points allowed at 33 per game. Meanwhile, Cleveland stands at 1-3 after making a much-needed quarterback change, struggling offensively despite boasting the league's best defense and top-rated run D.

The offensive line is showing promising signs of improvement, proving to be much more physical in their recent matchup against the Vikings. The unit only allowed four pressures amidst a relentless barrage of blitzes and twists. While the two sacks highlighted protection breakdowns rather than outright physical defeats, it's clear that the line is beginning to find its rhythm. Isaac Seamalu is rounding into form, delivering a strong performance over the last two weeks, while Troy Fautanu showed improvement despite needing to shake off some bad habits. Zach Frazier continued to be rock solid, and Broderick Jones brought solid effort, even if his technique needs refinement. Mason McCormick stood out as the top lineman against Minnesota, showcasing impressive physicality and improved footwork despite some wild hand placement. The coaching staff's decision to utilize more Darnell Washington and Spencer Anderson in their 12 personnel proved effective, enabling the team to run the ball effectively even against defenses that anticipated it.

Could Darnell Washington's emergence as a superior blocker make Pat Freiermuth expendable for the Steelers? Standing at 6'7"" and weighing 315 lbs, Washington's size and athleticism give him the edge in run-blocking, aligning perfectly with the Steelers' focus on a strong ground game. On the other hand, Jonnu Smith offers a more dynamic option in the passing game, boasting more athleticism and a rushing touchdown this season, making him a valuable asset for quick plays.

When looking at 12 Personnel formations, the combination of Washington and Smith could provide a more physical and versatile offensive strategy than Freiermuth alone. While the need for a solid passing game favors Freiermuth's presence, especially since he contributes significantly when the Steelers are trailing, the timing for a trade may not be right. With the offensive line struggles and the need to accumulate assets rather than deplete them, moving Freiermuth this season doesn't make logical sense.

Next season, Freiermuth will be 28, and Smith will be 31, making age and cap implications a factor in future decisions. Trading Freiermuth post-June 1 could save the team $9 million, but let's not overreact after one game. Although a better performance may have sparked new discussions, one game shouldn't dictate our view of Freiermuth’s value to the team.
