Welcome to episode 365 of the State of the New York Knicks Podcast! I’m your host, and today, we’re diving deep into the current state of the Knicks, and let me tell you—things aren’t looking great. This team is soft, and the numbers are starting to back that up. From their defensive struggles in 2025, especially guarding the three-point line, to the injuries that have plagued this squad, the Knicks are showing signs of needing a serious reset.

We'll break down the numbers and trends, showing how defense has slipped, with a particular focus on the glaring issue of defending the perimeter. But it’s not all bad news—there’s hope for change this summer. If it were up to me, we’d be seeing a new coach at the helm, with fresh ideas and a new mentality to fix this softness. Plus, I'm going to discuss why I think the team needs a change in direction, with Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby splitting up this offseason to give the team a more balanced and aggressive roster.
